Ingredients

mint leaves - 1 cup
tomato - 1
tamarind - small amla size
garlic - 2
curry leaves, coriander leaves
mustard seed - 1 tsp
asafoetida ( hing )- pinch
cumin pepper pdr - 1 tsp 
( cumin seed - 3/4 tsp, + pepper - 1/4 tsp )
dry chili - 3

Method

1. Take out juice from mint leaves using mixer
2. Mash 2 garlic cloves - set aside
3. Add 2 tsp of oil in a pan - add mustard seed & dry chili, Once it splutters saute curry leaves, mashed garlic, tomatoes and asafoetida - saute till the tomatoes becomes mushy. ( see video )
4. Now add tamarind extract, mint juice - let it boil for 5 minutes
5. By this time you can add cumin pepper pdr, and salt - within 2 minutes turn off your stove, & garnish it with coriander leaves --
   Rasam is now ready to serve
